The dogs, including puppies, were found inside the overcrowded home and an attached garage, as well as outdoor pens that were covered in mud and feces. In the poorly ventilated house, there were dangerous levels of ammonia—the stench from urine was overwhelming. In the outdoor pens, there was only stagnant

After assisting with evidence collection and immediate medical care, the dogs were removed from the property and will receive continued care, forensic exams, behavioral assessments and treatment from our dedicated team, as the case develops. It was a horrific scene, but right now, the dogs are beginning their journey from a tragic past to a hopeful future. They had been betrayed by the only humans they may have ever known. We will work to gain their trust and ensure them that help is here.
