Hi John,

NBC News: “Despite President Joe Biden's pleas … two House-approved bills to close gaps in the background checks system don't currently have the 60 votes needed to clear the Senate, according to senators who have spoken with colleagues to gauge support.”

A violent hate crime in Atlanta targeted Asian American women and left eight Americans dead two weeks ago.

A shooting in Boulder took ten lives during what should have been a routine supermarket visit less than a week later.

Two mass shootings in one week -- and Republicans still won't choose the American people over their friends at the NRA.

Experts are telling NBC News that we should get used to “a mass shooting once a week” as we return to normal after the pandemic.

But it doesn't have to be this way, John. If Republicans won't act, Democrats must use every tool we have to keep our communities safe. That means eliminating the Senate filibuster and finally passing gun safety legislation.

Every day, more and more Democrats are adding their support to abolish this Jim Crow relic. We need responses from 50 of our most engaged supporters to show our Democratic leaders that this is what the American people want. Please, tell us where you stand now:
Do you want Democrats to eliminate the filibuster and reform our gun laws?

Thanks for letting us know where you stand. We're so grateful for your allyship in the fight for a safer country.
