‌John,

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a voter suppression bill into law that places strong restrictions on vote-by-mail, scales back drop boxes for absentee-voting, increases unnecessary voter ID requirements, and even criminalizes giving water to voters standing in line.

It was upsetting to witness the codification of a measure that so clearly takes aim at minority voters. But it didn’t stop there. Mere feet away, Capitol police arrested and forcibly removed a Black sitting state representative from the Capitol for knocking on the governor’s door in an effort to witness the bill signing. I was disgusted.

It was a real embodiment of the spirit and letter of the Jim Crow era.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can mitigate the damages of Governor Kemp’s voter suppression bill by convincing Congress to pass the For the People Act. Our team set an end-of-month goal of raising $37,500 by Wednesday at midnight to continue a grassroots advocacy campaign to help pass this bill. Can I count on you to chip in $15 -- or whatever makes sense to you?

Rather than celebrate and welcome the record turnout of Black voters in the last elections, those in power are doing whatever it takes to suppress diverse voices and undemocratically hold power.

When self-serving politicians are disenfranchising people of color and assaulting the values that should make us proud to be Americans, we must reject their divisive vision for our country and create a political system that works for everyone. I believe passing the For the People Act will help us get there.

The All On The Line team set a goal of raising $37,500 by Wednesday at midnight because it’ll cost nearly $18,500 a week to fund a grassroots advocacy campaign to help pass the For the People Act. Will you make a donation right now -- of any amount -- to help fund their plans to create an America that works for everyone?

Thanks for helping us make our country live up to its promise,
Theron
