WomenHeart launched a new mobile app this month which helps women with heart disease connect one-on-one with WomenHeart Champions for peer support, encouragement and advice. The SisterMatch app will expand this program’s reach and allows women to match with a BigSister who shares a similar profile, while also providing information about local support groups and other resources. The app is available in the Apple and Google Play stores for download to your smart phone or tablet.

WomenHeartWomenHeart Leadership Responds to Discrimination Against Asian American Women
WomenHeart CEO Celina Gorre issued a statement condemning racism and sexism and speaking about her own experience as an Asian American woman. The statement recommits WomenHeart to our values and presents the steps we will take as an organization to support Asian American women’s heart health, promote health equity and cultivate a community of equality and wellbeing.
2020 Wenger (no woman)Nominations Open for Wenger Awards
WomenHeart is now accepting nominations for the 2021 Wenger Awards. This annual event highlights excellence in women’s heart disease, including research, practice, advocacy and communication. The deadline to submit nominations is April 7 - learn more here. This event will be held virtually in early summer – Save the Date coming soon.

WomenHeart is striving to enhance our social media presence. We are currently seeking proposals for a consultant to develop a social media strategy focused on growing and diversifying our reach – more information is available in the RFP. Deadline to submit is April 9. We are also hiring a paid intern for 10-15 hours/week to support our digital communications work. The job description is available here.

WomenHeart CEO Celina Gorre was featured on two podcasts this month. Dr. Brittany Barreto interviewed her for the Fem Tech Focus podcast where she spoke about women’s heart health to an audience interested in technology and innovation to support women’s health. She was also featured in a Charity Charms podcast, where they mentioned the WomenHeart charm created for us last year.
