I’ve been thinking of this team lately, friend. We launched Onward Together when the world looked very different and in the face of a president whose disregard for American life ended up costing us more dearly than anyone could have predicted. But our work wasn’t about him then and it isn’t about him now.
Protecting our democracy remains as critical as ever, and as we begin to stem the spread of COVID-19, we must repair the damage this pandemic will leave in its wake. We aren’t starting from scratch: the same Onward Together partner groups that organized and worked for change over the last four years are still fighting for our values, from the National Domestic Workers Alliance’s work to have domestic workers -- many of whom were and are classified as essential workers -- included in federal recovery plans to the Alliance for Youth Action’s focus on ensuring that families who most felt the economic effects of this pandemic get some relief from student debt. And of course, our friends at Democracy Docket continue to wage the fight that makes all others possible: the fight to protect the right to vote.
We’re so proud to work hand-in-hand with organizations big and small to advance progressive values and build a brighter future for generations to come. And I’m especially proud to know that you’re on this team with us.
