Tell Congress:
“We urge you to pass the Social Security 2100 Act this month to protect and expand Social Security for current and future generations.”

John,
The impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump’s corrupt and illegal activities is critical to the future of our country.
But it’s not the only reason Democrats were sent to Washington. The American people overwhelmingly voted blue in 2018 not just to provide necessary accountability for Trump, but also to advance a positive agenda. Already, Republicans are claiming that impeachment will grind all other business to a halt. It’s time to prove them wrong.
Congress needs to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time―and right now there’s a bill in the U.S. House that’s ready for a vote. The Social Security 2100 Act is co-sponsored by nearly 90% of House Democrats. It would expand Social Security’s modest benefits for millions of Americans and ensure that those benefits will be paid in full and on time for the rest of the century.
Tell Congress: While you’re advancing the impeachment inquiry into the president, you must also advance critical legislation that improves the lives of millions of Americans. Pass the Social Security 2100 Act to protect and expand Social Security for current and future generations.
The Social Security 2100 Act would:
-
Increase Social Security benefits for all recipients;
-
Protect low-income workers by increasing the minimum monthly benefit;
-
Maintain Social Security’s value over time by adjusting benefits to inflation;
-
Extend the lifespan of the Social Security trust fund to 2100 and beyond by requiring the rich to pay into Social Security at the same rate as the rest of us.
If Congress takes no action by 2035, Social Security recipients will face an automatic 20% benefit cut. Passing the Social Security 2100 Act stops those automatic cuts―and takes an anti-Social Security talking point off the table.
Republicans―from former Speaker Paul Ryan to Senate Leader Mitch McConnell―have promoted the false choice that we must either cut benefits now or accept cuts later. This month, the House of Representatives can prove them wrong.
Tell Congress to act immediately to pass the Social Security 2100 Act and demonstrate to the American people that Congress can defend our democracy while also protecting and improving the retirement security of all Americans.
It is essential that Congress conduct an impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump’s illegal activities. And it’s equally essential that Congress advance a legislative agenda that protects and expands Social Security, lowers prescription drug prices, and expands and improves Medicare to cover every single American.
Thank you for taking action today,
