This is outrageous, folks.

Last week, Georgia’s governor signed an abhorrent voter suppression bill into law, making it harder for millions of Georgians to cast their ballots.

Make no mistake, this bill is Jim Crow 2.0. It requires strict discriminatory ID requirements, limits ballot drop boxes, shortens runoff elections, and perhaps the most ludicrous — makes it a crime to bring food and water to people waiting in line to vote.

Georgians came out in historic numbers to send a Democrat to the White House and two Democrats to Congress — and now Republicans are doubling down on their efforts to suppress voting rights in the hopes of winning future elections. It’s anti-democratic and quite frankly, it’s disgusting.

Sign my urgent petition demanding Congress pass the For the People Act to expand voting rights at the federal level and stop horrendous bills like this from making their way through state legislatures.

It’s not just Georgia. Over 250 harmful voter suppression bills are being introduced in 43 state legislatures across the country. It’s clear Republicans think that when fewer people — especially communities of color — vote, the better their chances are of winning.

We cannot let the GOP get away with their plans to limit our most sacred right.
