Despite federal laws requiring transparency, much political campaign spending is obscured by regulations that exempt advertising agencies, consultancies and other sub-vendors from reporting their spending on behalf of political clients.
The Duke University Center on Science & Technology Policy and Campaign Legal Center will host a virtual panel discussion on the regulations that govern federal reporting of political sub-vendor spending. Offering insight from across sectors, the panel will outline current regulations, consider their implications on public transparency and evaluate potential reforms.
