Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz appeared on Fox Business recently, and he outlined one of the most dangerous threats our country faces today.
"Too many in Congress to say, 'We're not raising taxes, so we're being fiscally responsible.' But when we don't raise taxes and raise spending, we suck more than one trillion dollars from the American economy," Rep. Gaetz said.
Congress will never impose spending restraints on itself, Gaetz explained. As a member of Congress himself, he should know! In fact Congress is set to raise the debt ceiling again, even with a $22.5 trillion debt.
The real solution? Call an Article V Convention of States.
"Our brilliant Founders envisioned a circumstance like this," Gaetz said. "They knew the states would have to join together and call a Convention of States. Only the states will drive those reforms."
