Hello there,

Joe Biden is demanding the Senate act to pass gun reform legislation after the two deadly mass shootings in Atlanta and Boulder last week.

Speaking from the White House, Biden said, "We can ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country once again. I got that done when I was a senator. It passed. It was the law for the longest time. And it brought down these mass killings. We should do it again."

We agree with Biden -- this senseless violence needs to stop.

But not everyone agrees, and they are vocal about it. Republican senators who've financed their campaigns with dark money from the NRA and the gun lobby will fight any restrictions every step of the way. That money is more important to the GOP than American lives.

And Biden is already being attacked by right-wing extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene who thrive on inciting violence. Greene took to Twitter to speak out against gun reform, suggesting Biden will have to "come and take them" and reassuring her supporters "we won't let him."

Even though 90% of Americans support background checks, lawmakers still see it as controversial. We think it's past time we do better. But as we work to finally reform our gun laws in a new administration, we need to know if the American people are on Biden's side. Please, tell us where you stand now:
