Hi,
I have written a daily briefing for journalists since 2001, with just a few years away from the daily beat. When the coronavirus quickly evolved into an all-consuming pandemic that affected nearly every aspect of journalism, I knew my purpose was to help reporters and editors navigate the new normal.
In some ways, this newsletter is something of a partnership between you and me. I love to hear from readers, and I get a LOT of story ideas from you. All I need from you is a link to interesting and reliable stuff you come across. The best items are things that are not generally known but apply virtually anywhere.
I think journalists should be accountable and responsible. If you see something in my column that ticks you off, tell me. I may not agree, but I will hear you out and I usually respond. I will do my best to be interesting, relevant and never waste your time.
I look forward to hearing from you.
