Hey Team – I was a guest on the Neoliberal Podcast, where we touched on the 2022 midterms, bipartisanship, Republican culture wars, and more. Trust me, it’s worth the listen:

We talked about the importance of the American Rescue Plan, a piece of legislation that NewDems worked hard to get passed in the House and has already delivered $1,400 checks into the pockets of hard working families.

This plan will not only help the economy recover from the pandemic, but in a time of great polarization, it’s supported by over 70% of Americans — Democrats and Republicans alike.

Let’s be honest: partisan Republicans in the House and Senate are among the only ones fighting against this legislation.

And while every Republican voted against the American Rescue Plan, there were pieces of the package that had bipartisan support. For example, the Child Tax Credit, an idea championed by NewDem Chair Suzan DelBene and backed by our coalition, is a clear win for the country.

This credit could cut child poverty in half — a tremendous step forward. If that weren’t enough, the bill funds the vaccines and treatments necessary to beat this virus and put our economy back on its feet.

Shots in arms and money in pockets: it’s all part of how we demonstrate to the American people that we have a vision for the future and a plan to get things done.

If we can keep this up, we won’t just win in 2022 — we’ll be in a position to expand our majority.
