It?s going to be a busy month: Libraries Week, Nottingham?s unique Mental Health Awareness Weeks and Get Online Week are all taking place in October!
During Libraries Week, communities and library staff across the country join in a week-long celebration of the nation?s much-loved libraries, and this year?s theme will focus on?Celebrating Libraries in the Digital World.
Celebrate and explore how libraries engage with the digital world: from providing free computer access and free Wi-Fi, supporting local business and enterprise, building digital skills and confidence, encouraging digital participation to supporting health, wellbeing and education as more and more people come to libraries for their digital skills and services.?
Having all this technology at our fingertips can be emotionally exhausting, and tying in with Nottingham Mental Health Awareness Weeks, we are also taking the time to look at some of the pitfalls that come with the digital world. ?

Two For The Road, Roddy Doyle.?Two men meet for a pint in a Dublin pub. They chew the fat, set the world to rights and mourn friends gone: David Bowie, Prince, Princess Leia, and Young Frankenstein. Around them the world of Brexit, Trump, and referendums storm. A strong brew of comic genius inspired by the last five years of news.
The Lying Room, Nicci French.?A trusted colleague and friend. A mother. A wife. Neve Connolly is all these things. She has also made mistakes; some small, some unconsciously done, some large, some deliberate. But now one mistake is spiralling out of control and Neve is bringing those around her into immense danger. A liar. A cheat. A threat. Neve Connolly is all these things. Could she be a murderer?
The Secret of Cold Hill, Peter James.?Cold Hill House has been razed to the ground by fire, replaced with a development of ultra-modern homes. Cold Hill Park appears to be the ideal place to live. But looks are deceptive!? Soon, people start to feel they are not alone in their new homes.
