Dear Friends and Supporters:
We are asking you to sign this Open Letter ([link removed]) in support of the right to vote and the need for legal institutions and organizations to speak and act against voter suppression.
President Biden's first press conference included a powerful reproach of efforts to make it harder for Americans to exercise their right to vote. Yet state legislatures are rushing to pass restrictive laws.
We are calling on individuals, bar associations, law firms, and law schools to do their part to protect the right to vote.
The Open Letter ([link removed]) published today speaks to the history of voter suppression in our country and new restrictive laws and proposals that bring us back to the Jim Crow era.
