We’re demanding our elected officials support a bold, inclusive recovery package and more.

Indivisibles,

The trees are blooming, birds are chirping, and Indivisibles across the country are shaking off the final dredges of winter for Recovery Recess! We’ll keep this short and sweet so you can jump right into the action.

This March recess (March 29 - April 11) we’re pushing our members of Congress to support a bold, inclusive recovery package and reforms that strengthen our democracy. Join our Recovery Recess Week of Action to demand that our members of Congress prioritize passing a transformational recovery package, like the THRIVE Agenda, and critical democracy-saving reforms, like the For the People Act and D.C. Statehood.

Here’s how to get involved:

🌱Call your representatives and then call your senators to ask them to support our March recess asks. We have a short window of opportunity to be heard by our MoCs while they’re back in their districts.

🌱Sign up to attend an existing event on this joint partner event map for Recovery Recess here!

🌱Want a quick explainer on the THRIVE Agenda? Check out and share our latest video here.

🌱Check out our Recovery Recess Week of Action Toolkit. This is your one-stop shop for all things Recovery Recess including resources, explainers, and more.

Make sure to follow along this Recovery Recess on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (and tag us if you participate in a local event or action!).

 Your weekly to-dos

  1. Sign up to attend a Recovery Recess (March 29 to April 11) event this week! We need a bold recovery package that delivers real climate solutions and advances racial, Indigenous, gender, and economic justice. Along with the THRIVE Resolution, we’re applying pressure on MoCs to pass critical democracy reforms, like the For the People Act and D.C. statehood, without letting the filibuster get in the way.
  2. RSVP for our upcoming April National Activist Call. Join us for our next National Indivisible Activist Call on April 1 at 8pm ET. Learn more about March recess and other upcoming Indivisible programs to get involved in.
  3. Ask your representative to co-sponsor the THRIVE Agenda. With the climate crisis continuing to intensify, the economy entering a deep recession, and the need for racial justice and healing being felt as acutely as ever, the case for Green New Deal-style policymaking is stronger than ever before.
  4. Take action for democracy reform with the For the People Project. Check out our For the People Project page as your one-stop shop to learn more about our plans and find ways to take action.
  5. Join us alongside partners on Wednesday, March 31 at 7 pm ET for the John Lewis Mobilization Town Hall. This town hall is for activists and local organizations to learn more about the May 8 John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Day of Action mobilization.

P.S. We rely on your support to keep call pages up and running, fund ads to get the word out, and continue all the work we’re doing this year. If you’re able, click here to donate to help fund our work.

 IndivisiWins

Last week, Indivisible Northern Nevada made sure that Rep. Mark Amodei (NV-02), aka #AbsentAmodei, heard their frustration with his NO vote on the American Rescue Plan. They took to Twitter to share this video demanding answers from their Republican representative.

Make sure you keep holding your members of Congress accountable to their votes like Indivisible Northern Nevada did!

 Women's History Month

We’re closing out our celebration of Women’s History Month this week by sharing some extra content that honors the women who made an impact, envisioned a better future, and continue to strive for change. Here’s what we’re reading and streaming:

🎧 The NCAA Is Still Laughably Sexist. On this episode of the Burn It All Down podcast, hosts Lindsay, Amira, and Jess cover the ridiculously unequal treatment of women athletes in the NCAA's March Madness basketball tournament and more. (Burn It All Down Pod, March 23).

📝 The President and CEO of the SPLC Has Big Plans for the South. As the president and CEO of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), Margaret Huang leads the organization combating racial injustice in the South and strengthening human rights across the U.S. Read more about what the everyday life of this changemaker is like in this interview. (The Cut, March 29).

💻 Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa. Follow an abortion helpline in Philadelphia where every phone counselor goes by Lisa. This hotline gives voice to women and teens affected by the explicitly discriminatory legislation. (Topic, Jan 2021).

We’re looking forward to your Recovery Recess week of action events and will be sharing your top moments on social media throughout the week. Now, get ready to get loud and make your voice heard!

In solidarity,
