Dear John,
CAGW is fighting for you and winning battles both large and small. Thanks to your participation in our many waste-cutting campaigns, we have achieved some significant successes over the past couple of years – from slashing U.S. funding for the wasteful and corrupt United Nations to delivering tax relief to American families and businesses to making progress in dismantling the regulatory state.
As we pass the midpoint of 2019, I want to share one additional taxpayer victory with you that was years in the making and that would not have been possible without the steadfast support of CAGW’s Charter Members.
Six years ago, CAGW demanded that the multibillion-dollar contract to upgrade the Army’s primary intelligence-gathering software system, known as DCGS-A, be opened up to non-traditional bidders. We cited serious failures with the system, which the Army then tried to cover up. After our initial efforts were rejected, the Army finally agreed to have a fair, open competition for the lowest cost and most efficient contractor, and this past spring, CAGW won a huge victory for taxpayers when the Army awarded the contract to Palantir, a private data analytics company.
This is the first time any non-defense contractor has been chosen to lead a Pentagon program like DCGS-A. Most importantly, this is a groundbreaking achievement in CAGW’s long drive to break up the monopolistic hold politically-connected, Establishment military contractors have on defense procurement, which results in lengthy project delays and skyrocketing costs for taxpayers.
John, this is just one example of what you and I can accomplish together and why I hope you will take a moment now to become a 2019 CAGW CHARTER MEMBER.
Your membership support is particularly important right now because many of our toughest battles still lie ahead.
In the second half of this year, we must be ready at a moment’s notice to publicize the cost of each and every new Socialist policy proposal put forth by the Democratic presidential candidates and the Leftists in Congress so that we can stop these wasteful and absolutely unaffordable ideas from gaining traction.
At the same time, we must continue our nose-to-the-grindstone work of identifying specific examples of government waste and putting our recommendations for spending cuts in the hands of key decision-makers in the Trump Administration and our allies in Congress.
John, the clout that CAGW wields in Washington on behalf of taxpayers depends on the support of concerned and engaged Americans like you. You make our work possible, and you are essential to our continued success in the coming months.
That’s why I urgently need you to become a 2019 CAGW CHARTER MEMBER today with your largest possible gift of $10.00, $15.00, $25.00, $35.00, or even more. Your support will allow CAGW to continue and expand our most critical efforts to reduce wasteful deficit spending and slash the size of government. Please respond right away! Thank you.
Sincerely,
Thomas A. Schatz
President
P.S. John, I may serve as CAGW President, but this is truly your organization. With your CAGW CHARTER MEMBERSHIP CONTRIBUTION today, you will decide how successful we will be in the second half of this year in changing the wasteful status quo in Washington and countering the Far Left’s tax-and-spend agenda that threatens to bankrupt our country.
