Dear John

Read on to find out who our #MarkItVegan campaign has finally signed up! And, we need your help for game birds and animals in slaughterhouses. Thank you for your continued support!

pheasants in breeding cage

Take action for game birds

Today, 1 October, the pheasant shooting season commences.

Every year, around 50 million pheasants and partridges are purpose-bred for the shooting industry. Animal Aid wants a ban on the production of birds for ‘sport’ shooting.

But, as an important interim measure, we are campaigning for an end to the battery cages in which thousands of ‘game' birds used for egg production are incarcerated.

Please share our film which shows the appalling conditions to which breeding partridges and pheasants are subjected.

Join our call for mandatory CCTV in slaughterhouses in Wales

Thank you to everyone who has joined us in urging the Welsh Government to introduce independently-monitored, mandatory CCTV for all Welsh slaughterhouses. The need for CCTV is more than demonstrated by the shocking findings of our recent investigation. Nearly 3,000 people have now taken action – the message is loud and clear!

If you haven’t already, please join our call. Thanks!

As well as the chance to win one of these cash prizes, you will also receive free Animal Aid membership, giving you Outrage magazine, in which we publish the winning Lottery numbers, a 10% discount on everything in the Animal Aid shop and many other benefits.

Lidl to introduce vegan labelling

Lidl to introduce new vegan labelling!

Following an internal review, and Animal Aid’s #MarkItVegan campaign, Lidl has confirmed that it is to introduce a new vegan logo in the next couple of months. This now means that all major UK supermarkets have committed to clear and consistent vegan labelling, with most of them already rolling it out.

Clearly labelling products as 'suitable for vegans' in some way has a host of benefits. Firstly, it enables those of us who avoid animal products entirely to easily find which products are vegan. Secondly, it helps non-vegans realise how many delicious vegan options there truly are to choose from.

mother and foal

Help our petition reach 250,000 signatures!

We are calling for a ban on racing pregnant mares after poor race horse, Beyondtemptation, and her unborn foal were killed in a horrific fall when racing on a British racecourse.  She was forced to race for a third time in just 17 days whilst pregnant.

We are really, really close to our 250,000 signature goal!

Please sign our petition, share it on social media and try to get as many people as you can to sign. Thank you!
