John,
For working people to not only survive, but thrive, we need elected officials in District of Columbia and the rest of Congress to pass the THRIVE Act: big, bold legislation to take on the intersecting climate, racial justice, and economic crises we face, while creating millions of good jobs.
Today we held a press-conference with the Green New Deal Network to kick off our campaign to pass the THRIVE Act featuring Sen. Ed Markey, Rep. Debbie Dingell, Rep. Yvette Clarke, Kaniela Ing, WFP's very own Nelini Stamp, and more.
As members of Congress head home to their districts this week for the spring recess, we’re going to make sure they hear from us in support of the THRIVE Act. So we're making this spring recess a Recovery Recess, with WFP activists and organizers holding creative direct actions across the country, and we want you with us, John.

As Working Families Party Director of Strategy and Partnerships Nelini Stamp said earlier today:
When we talk about transformative legislation, we talk about THRIVE. The THRIVE Act is investing more money in frontline communities than anything that we've seen come out thus far. And that's exactly what's necessary to meet the needs of this moment — but also to meet the needs historically in our communities and the historic crimes against our communities. We know exactly what we need. Where we're at is not only because of the pandemic, it's because of decades of disinvestment in our communities. That was made worse by the pandemic, made worse by the 2008 financial crisis. We are living crisis to crisis, and that must end today.
The American people can’t wait any longer for real relief and healing. When members of Congress come home this week, make sure they hear your voice by joining a Recovery Recess event.
We deserve a government that works for working people, John. Join the Recovery Recess this week to help make that change in District of Columbia and across the country.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
