Earlier this month, universal background checks passed in the House. Every day since we’ve been working tirelessly to get this lifesaving policy a debate and vote in the Senate.

And this morning, Gabby reached out to you personally about why it’s crucial that the Senate passes universal background checks as soon as possible.

So now, we’re reaching out to ask if you can chip in to help us meet our 25,000 contribution FEC fundraising goal. Getting there will allow us to push the Senate to pass universal background checks and put the bill on President Biden’s desk.

We can’t waste any more time. This past month, tragedy yet again captured the nation’s attention not once, but twice. 8 people were killed—six of them Asian women—in attacks in the Atlanta area. Then just 6 days later, 10 people were shot and killed, including a police officer, in a horrific mass shooting at a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado.

Shootings like this can be prevented with gun safety legislation starting with universal background checks. We can save lives, we just need the Senate to act.

Now is our chance. Life is starting to return back to normal, which means we need to do everything we can to act now and prevent another tragedy from taking place.
