Dear Friend,

For years to come, we will be grappling with “all that was 2020,” including a global pandemic, escalation of the climate crisis, racial injustice and mass mobilization to protect Black lives, and attacks on our democracy.

Governments, hospitals, schools, businesses, houses of worship, families and individuals continue to figure out how to move forward and how to address our roles and responsibilities toward healing our nation.

And so do responsible shareholders. Does this include you? If you own stock directly, not in a mutual fund, you may be able to vote on crucial issues affected by corporate power, including

  • Sick leave policy
  • Pandemic-related safety for workers
  • Gender, race, & diversity policies
  • Action to address the climate crisis
  • Corporate lobbying and political spending
  • Pesticide use
  • Plastics pollution
  • And more!

Green America’s guide to 2021 shareholder resolutions highlights many of the crucial social and environmental resolutions on shareholder ballots this year.

Concerned investors have filed more than 400 resolutions for 2021 reflecting the challenges that dominate these times. Resolutions to vote on include a wide range of environmental, social, and corporate governance issues with a major focus on racial justice, diversity, and equal opportunity; climate; worker safety; and corporate influence on government.

Shareholder resolutions have been filed with more than 200 companies and some companies have received multiple resolutions. For information on this year’s compelling resolutions and trends, download the free 2021 Proxy Preview. Green America is proud to co-sponsor this resource produced by our allies at As You Sow, the Sustainable Investments Institute, and Proxy Impact.

Check out Green America’s sampling of key, upcoming resolutions which you can view by company and by issue.

Thank you to all shareholders for voting your values in the weeks and months ahead!
