You’re invited to join Foreign Policy’s inaugural Climate Summit on April 27 & 28 -- a virtual convening of global leaders and innovators to galvanize cross-sector collaboration and solutions for a sustainable future.

Climate change is the biggest challenge facing humanity not only because of the urgent threats it poses but also its scale and complexity. While COVID has focused the world’s attention on sweeping health, societal and economic systems, it also has demonstrated the interconnectedness of global systems and the varied and exponential ways climate affects our lives and livelihoods. Tackling the climate crisis therefore demands coordinated global  approaches and multi-sectoral solutions to enable more efficient, circular use of resources, and a rethink of how we produce and consume goods and interact with our environment.

Coming on the heels of President Biden’s Earth Day summit, and building on the momentum his administration has reignited around climate targets, our program will spotlight leaders and doers at the forefront of climate action: Through a series of dynamic, forward-looking conversations, we will examine core challenges to meeting the world’s energy needs as well as strategies and innovations different industries and sectors bring to the table as they work towards a carbon-neutral future. Additionally, we will explore the economic dimensions of climate change, the cost of inaction, and how investment in sustainable and clean technologies can address climate priorities while also spurring our global recovery.

Join some of the foremost global leaders and experts -along with an influential audience from around the world- to exchange ideas, generate commitments and strategies, and push for international action on climate change.

Speakers will include:
  • Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland
  • H.E. Iván Duque Márquez, President of Colombia
  • John Kerry, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate
  • Dr. Florika Fink-Hooijer, Director-General, Environment Department, European Commission
  • Senator Chris Murphy, D-CT
  • Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, D-RI
  • For more information and a full list of speakers, please visit our website.
