[ [link removed] ]defend the right to vote, restore the VRA
People For Member,
Jim Crow is alive and well.
Georgia just enacted one of the worst voter suppression laws in the
country to make it harder for Black and brown voters to cast a ballot.
We're fighting back. We have several tools to do so. One of those tools is
the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would restore strength to and
modernize the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Had the right-wing majority on the Supreme Court not gutted a key
provision of the VRA in its 2013 decision in Shelby County v. Holder,
there's no way Georgia could have ever passed its new Jim Crow voter
suppression law.
[ [link removed] ]You can help stop this attack and other attacks on voting rights right
now by weighing in to tell Congress to PASS the John Lewis Voting Rights
Act.
