A shocking fact: millions of workers in the U.S. lack access to even a single day of paid leave if they get sick or need to care for a sick family member. This was true even before the pandemic, and unless we act now it will be true again after the pandemic as well.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

Over 75% of people support paid family and medical leave and the Biden/Harris administration has said they are ready for action. We’re on the cusp of a permanent and inclusive national policy for paid family and medical leave!

The problem is that not every Democrat in Congress is on board and we need them all to win. It’s up to us to seize the moment and make it happen.

That’s why we’re working with PL+US, a national campaign to win paid leave, to launch a big, visible campaign in DC. In April, we’ll welcome lawmakers back to DC after the congressional recess with a mobile billboard sporting thousands of photos and messages from their constituents who support paid leave.

Paid leave can aid the country’s recovery from the pandemic. It’s also a critical investment in the long term for working people, the economy, and the well-being of our families and communities.

And, in honor of Women's History Month, what better way to recognize the history and sacrifice of American women in the work place than finally establishing a nationwide commitment to paid family leave.

Make sure Congress gets the message by sharing your photo.

If you like, you can take a photo with someone you care for like a child or a parent, or you can handwrite a message. The photo petition website has several frames you can choose to add like one that says “Parent for Paid Leave” and another that says “Essential Worker for Paid Leave.”
