The Washington Post : “USPS chief DeJoy cuts post office hours, lengthens delivery times in new 10-year plan”
“The largest rollback of consumer mail services in a generation”
Last week, the head of the Postal Service, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy -- a Trump appointee and former mega-donor to his campaigns -- announced a new USPS initiative that would cut Post Office hours, raise prices on customers, and ultimately, weaken mail delivery services.
I want to hear your thoughts on the matter: Do you think Postmaster General Louis DeJoy should resign?
YES >> [[link removed]] NO >> [[link removed]]
Our state has experienced some of the worst postal backlogs in the country. I’ve spoken with Marylanders in the 2nd District who have already experienced days-long mail delays due to USPS policy changes, putting them at risk of missing vital mail like paychecks, tax returns, and prescriptions -- services Marylanders rely on especially during the pandemic.
These types of service issues are particularly harmful to seniors, small businesses, and rural communities, and they could drive the Postal Service into even worse financial distress.
I joined the Maryland congressional delegation in demanding answers from DeJoy and USPS officials about mail delivery issues, and I will continue fighting in Congress for accountability and legislation to get the Postal Service back to normal service standards.
Issues at the Postal Service affect all of us, and I want to hear from you. Click here to take our Official USPS Poll and tell me whether you think Postmaster General DeJoy should resign >>
