Since day one in Congress, Jamaal has held President Joe Biden — a president elected by voters, particularly Black voters, turning out in historic numbers — accountable to our demands of progressive change.
From introducing legislation to investigate white supremacy and its connection to Capitol police to advocating for truly progressive candidates for roles in the Biden administration, Jamaal is leading a bold movement in Washington.
He's been a tireless advocate for our children by voicing his disapproval of the Biden Education Department's refusal to grant a national waiver for standardized testing for students during the pandemic. He's also made sure that strong investments in education were made in the American Rescue Plan to get our schools back on track after the coronavirus pandemic, along with support in other sources like rent relief.
And since he took office, Jamaal — alongside other leading progressives in Congress — has been working directly with the administration to ensure that the progressive perspective is making it to the White House.
John, there's still a lot of work ahead of us to continue pushing for the things we need: Medicare for All, canceling student loan debt, a Green New Deal, abolishing the filibuster, and so much more. So, we must continue to keep the pressure on President Biden and his administration — not only to undo the damage of the Trump administration, but also to move our country forward.
