Friend,
The fight for justice is long, and it requires the work and courage of people who don't quit when the going gets tough. My friend Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA) is one of those people – and today, she and I both need your help.
Lucy and I made history as two Black leaders who flipped red seats blue in Georgia. We ran because we knew that our state deserved better than far-right misleaders and race-baiting, bottom-of-the-barrel politics.
Now we're fighting in Congress to protect our sacred voting rights, take action on gun safety reform, expand affordable health care and advance the cause of justice – but there's a problem: Democrats are hanging on to razor-thin majorities in the House and the Senate, and Lucy and I are both up for reelection next year.
With CNN reporting that the GOP has set its sights on Georgia as a top target to take back control, losing either one of our critical seats could cost Democrats our majorities and jeopardize our entire progressive agenda. That's why I'm urgently asking:
Please, will you split a donation of $5 or more – as much as you can spare before our crucial end-of-quarter FEC deadline – to help Lucy and me keep Georgia blue and defend our Democratic majorities?
Time is truly of the essence, friend. Republicans are launching an all-out assault on everything from voting rights to health care in Georgia and across the nation – endangering the integrity of our very democracy.
Georgia is changing. Republicans are running scared. Our people-powered movements can defeat them again and win. But these races could decide the fate of the House and the Senate – which means that the GOP will be flooding the state with MILLIONS to defeat us. We need your help to fight back.
Friend, time is running out before our important FEC deadline, and we're counting on grassroots folks like you to give now – so please: Will you split a donation of $5 or more between Lucy and me so we can win in Georgia and defend our Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate?
Thank you so much – I appreciate it.
