Hi John,

We're starting to hear news out of the Capitol that a deal on education and revenue may be close to being finalized — but until they raise $7 billion in revenue and fully fund Foundation Aid, we cannot let up the pressure on our elected leaders!

New York's budget process is infamous for being decided by just three people: the Governor, Senate Majority Leader and Assembly Speaker. Join us, as we fight for an increase in taxes on the ultra wealthy so we can meet the pressing needs of our schools and communities. For our sixth day of action, send an email to the Senate Majority Leader, Assembly Speaker and Senate finance chair Liz Krueger to let them know we need them to push to tax the ultra rich and fully fund Foundation Aid in the enacted budget!

DAY SIX

Action 1: Keep up the pressure on the budget negotiators

Email Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and Senate Finance Chair Liz Krueger now urging them to hold firm in the commitment that the State Legislature made to our schools and our communities, and to fight to ensure the enacted budget includes not a penny less for students than what they included in their budget proposals.

Action 2: Join the all-day action to Invest in Our New York

Take part in a tweetstorm and phone bank with the Invest in Our New York coalition this afternoon, calling on state legislators to tax the ultra rich in the enacted budget.

Watch for tomorrow's email with our next way to take action. You can sign up for updates on the Week of Action here.
