Hello there: There is a gun violence crisis in this country.

And Senator Elizabeth Warren refuses to sweep it under the rug:

"Week after week, month after month, year after year -- the gun violence doesn't end. And things won't get better until Democrats get rid of the filibuster and finally pass gun safety legislation that a huge majority of Americans support. What are we waiting for -- another tragedy?"

We experienced two mass shootings just six days apart, and we can't afford to grow numb to these atrocities, not when so many lives are at stake.

Republicans have spent decades cozying up to the gun lobby and their friends in the NRA -- all while our children, our families, and members of our communities have lost their lives to senseless gun violence.

There is no reason why anyone should be able to "have a bad day," buy an AR-15, and decide to take innocent lives.

We finally have a president AND a Congress that are ready to take action to end gun violence. The House already passed critical gun safety legislation earlier this month. Now is the time to act -- and the ONLY thing standing in the way is a Senate filibuster Mitch McConnell is using to protect his friends in the NRA.
