This is a long email, but I hope you’ll take the time to read the whole thing. It’s important, and it would mean a lot to me personally.

At the start of the last Congress, one of the first votes House Republicans took was on a bill designed to unravel protections for workers exposed to chemicals like beryllium.

Beryllium is likely one of the chemicals that poisoned my father’s lungs and caused his cancer.

Watching House Republicans attack worker protections and vote against the health and safety needs of people like my father in order to placate their wealthy donors left me sick. But Republicans are beholden to special interests like the chemical industry and big oil, and they’ll do just about anything to satisfy them — even when it’s wrong for working folks.

That’s why, as chairman of the House Democrats’ campaign arm, I worked so hard to defeat the GOP and take back the majority. It’s also why I ran for U.S. Senate and helped Democrats gain full control.

I knew that only a Democratic majority in Washington would put working people and my constituents first. And we are. By working to provide additional COVID-19 relief, expand worker protections, get big money out of politics, and more.

Now, we need your help to defend every last seat to protect our majority and continue getting the job done for the American people. Our first end-of-quarter deadline of the year is coming up in a few days, and we need to prove the momentum is on our side.
