Instead of supporting policies to protect much less improve Social Security and Medicare, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and other so-called “fiscal hawks” in Congress remain determined to cut earned benefits to balance the budget and pay for unrelated programs.
Yet, champions of Social Security and Medicare serving in Congress are now preparing to introduce several key bills that would improve the retirement and health security of millions of older Americans by allowing Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices, boosting monthly Social Security benefits by implementing a fair Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) that takes into account seniors’ actual expenses, and ensuring millionaires pay their fair share into Social Security. To ensure these vital bills make it onto the House and Senate floors for a vote, I need your help!
