In just a minute, I’m going to ask you to contribute to my campaign as part of our first end-of-quarter fundraising push of the year. I hope you’ll give me a moment to explain why this matters so much.

The truth is, we are slightly behind on our fundraising goals for Q1. It’s not surprising given how busy things have been in Washington. I just haven’t had a lot of time to focus on fundraising.

Between working hard to pass additional COVID-19 relief for working families to navigating an evenly split 50-50 Senate, I couldn’t afford to focus on anything other than doing my job. Most days, raising money for our campaign operations was the last thing on my mind given how many important fights we have going on right now.

So, I hope you can understand why I’m emailing you. We’re not that far behind where we need to be to hit our goal ahead of this all-important quarterly deadline. A donation of $3, or whatever you’re able to spare right now, will go a long way toward catching up.
