Last week, Her Time-endorsed candidate Ayanna Pressley helped introduce the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act, alongside a coalition of Congresswomen of color. Under the EACH Act, women enrolled in Medicaid and other federal health programs would be guaranteed access to abortion care, no matter their income level.

Essentially, the EACH Act would overturn four decades of the Hyde Amendment, which has disproportionately restricted low-income women and women of color from receiving abortion care.

 

With 1 in 5 women of reproductive age receiving Medicaid coverage, the EACH Act would ensure that millions of women have the same access to abortion care as a woman with means.
