With over 1,000 alums elected to and serving in office, we’ve seen so many firsts, including:
• In New Mexico, Shammara Hendersonwas elected as the first Black appellate judge in the state.
• In Arizona, Gabriella Cazares-Kelly was the first Tohono O'odham woman to win a county-wide election in Pima County.
• In South Carolina, Kirstin Graziano made history as the first LGBTQ+ person and the first woman elected sheriff in the state.
• In Arkansas, April Legere became the first woman of color elected to the Rogers City Council.
• In California, Cristina Soto DeBarry will be the first woman of color elected to Fire District and the only woman of color serving at this level or higher in Marin County.
• In Georgia, Nicole Love Hendrickson became the first Black woman elected Chairman of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners.

What if I told you that a contribution of $15 could make the difference in whether or not we can continue to break barriers across the country? Would you rush a contribution to continue to help us elect ‘firsts’?

In just three days we’re facing our most important deadline of the year that will dictate exactly how much we can invest in our alums.

Can you contribute today and help us continue to shatter the status quo? [link removed]

The best part of winning these races is that we are fundamentally shifting the expectations around who can run — and win — as we elect leaders that truly represent their communities.

For instance, if we continue investing across the South, we can change the trajectory of leadership forever.

None of this work is possible without you. With less than 72 hours left before this critical deadline, can you rush a contribution now? [link removed]

Thank you,

This email was sent to [email protected]. Emerge is a national organization working to recruit, train, and get Democratic women elected across the country, and we are so grateful to have you on our team. Our alums are strong voices for Democratic values — and they are working to bring their values up and down the ballot to fight for working families. They are fighting for critical issues that affect our communities like the environment, accessible and affordable healthcare, social justice and education equity. We need more alums fighting for us across the country.

Email is the best way for us to keep you informed about what’s happening with our work. You may notice that we send a lot of emails asking for your support—that’s because we win when everyone does what they can to help. Our organization depends on thousands of actual people who care about our democracy and want to see positive change in our communities and across our country by building power through investing in Democratic women.
