Neonic pesticides are a threat to pollinators, the future of our food
supply — and our health!

New studies illuminate the serious risks that everyday exposure to toxic
"neonic" pesticides pose to people, especially children. We must put an
end to Big Ag's neonic onslaught any way we can — our health depends on
it!

Dear NRDC Activist,

Neonic pesticides — the most widely used class of insecticides pushed by
giant agrochemical companies worldwide — have long been linked to massive
losses of bees and other pollinators, which could threaten the future of
our food supply and make it even harder for historically marginalized
communities to find healthy food.

But that's not the only risk this pesticide poses to our health: Emerging
evidence links neonic exposure to neurological damage and malformations of
the developing heart and brain.

We must stop this neonic binge before it's too late. NRDC is preparing to
turn the tide on Big Ag's chemical juggernaut with everything we've got.
We're generating massive public pressure on the EPA to ban bee-killing
uses of neonics, and we'll run to the courts if it means protecting our
pollinators, the future of our food supply, and the health of our
communities.

But to take on Big Ag and fight to protect bees and our health — in and
out of the courtroom — we urgently need your help:

[ [link removed] ]This fight is so important that all gifts will be 3X MATCHED to go
three times as far. Pitch in before March 31 with a tax-deductible
donation of just $5 or more. Your gift will TRIPLE, up to $250,000, doing
three times as much to help us go toe-to-toe with big pesticide makers,
ban bee-killing uses of neonics, and defend our environment on all fronts.

Roughly half the U.S. population is
exposed to at least one neonic chemical on a regular basis. And scientists
have found that children 3-5 years old are exposed to the toxic pesticide
at higher concentrations than adults.

How are neonics entering children's bodies? Look no further than the
refrigerator.

Neonics have been detected in many non-organic foods that are children's
favorites, including 60% of cherries, 30% of strawberries, and 30% of
apples.

Neonics also run off farm fields, lawns, and gardens into waterways and
groundwater. Federal government research has detected neonics in about
half of U.S. streams tested.

The EPA has had access to the growing body of evidence of the dangerous
potential health impacts of neonics for years but has stubbornly refused
to stand up to the agrochemical giants — even though the agency admits
that it previously underestimated the serious risks that neonics pose to
pollinators, other wildlife, and human health.

With a new pro-environment, pro-science Biden administration in office,
it's now time for the EPA to act.

[ [link removed] ]Rush a gift to support our campaign
today and it will be MATCHED, dollar for dollar, to help NRDC hold the EPA
and Big Ag accountable — in and out of court — and protect our
pollinators, our health, and our environment on all fronts. Even $5 will
have a huge impact.

We must put an end to Big Ag's giant, uncontrolled experiment that puts
our pollinators, our food supply, and our health at risk in favor of its
bottom line. [ [link removed] ]And with your support, we can succeed.

Thank you for standing with us during this critical moment.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Sass

Donations will be used to protect bees and secure the future of our food
supply, and for other campaigns that allow NRDC to protect the environment
in the most effective way possible.
