Hi John,

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris recently met with voting rights champion Stacey Abrams to “discuss voting rights in the face of legislation introduced by state GOP lawmakers in various states that would restrict access to the ballot,” according to The Hill.

Abrams made it clear: “We are at war, fighting to protect our democracy.”

We're actively moving to protect our democracy from the GOP, which has introduced over 250 state-level bills this year alone that are specifically designed to restrict voters' access to the ballot box.

The GOP's relentless attacks against voters -- especially voters of color -- are why Democrats in Congress introduced the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act to restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Both this bill and the For the People Act show that, unlike Republicans, the Democratic Party is truly dedicated to democracy.

With the leadership of women like Stacey Abrams, we were able to prevail over the GOP's voter suppression tactics in Georgia and across the country. That's why Biden and Harris are letting Abrams lead the way, and why we know we can absolutely win again in 2022 if supporters like you commit the same energy you had in November and January to this next round in the fight for voting rights.

We're $1,026 behind today's fundraising goal, and we really need you to make sure we don't fall further behind. If we don't amass enough resources to stop the GOP's barrage of voter suppression bills, voters of color will be even further disenfranchised -- giving the GOP a clear shot at winning back the House and Senate and enacting every part of their racist agenda in 2022.
