Arlington Economic Development (AED) is offering a suite of free services and tools for small businesses in Arlington. The ReLaunch program aims to help small businesses become more resilient as they recover from the pandemic. The consulting programs are limited to businesses with fewer than 50 employees at their Arlington location that have been in operation for the past six months. The ReLaunch program includes:
 
  • Technical assistance for financial management, strategic planning, marketing and branding, digital presence, and basic business legal structure and documentation;
  • An assessment of businesses’ e-commerce presence, and support with a website update, best digital practices including being found online, cybersecurity, or e-commerce tools;
  • Free resources from AED available to all businesses for branding, marketing, financial management, customer service, and more; and
  • Assistance in paying Arlington's Multi-Family and Commercial Recycling Program fees for businesses meeting eligibility criteria.
 
Eligible Arlington businesses can receive no cost assistance through this initiative.

Governor Northam announced increases to capacity restrictions for social gatherings and some entertainment venues that will go into effect this Thursday, April 1.
 
The changes include:
  • Raising social gatherings limits to 50 people indoors and 100 outdoors.
  • Entertainment venues may operate at 30% capacity up to 500 people indoors or 30% without a numeric cap outdoors.
  • Recreational sports spectator caps are raised to 100 indoors and 500 outdoors with no more than 30% of venue capacity for each.
  • Graduations can have up to 5,000 or 30% of outdoor venue capacity, whichever is less, and 500 or 30% of indoor capacity, whichever is less. 
 
The governor also said to continue to wear masks and follow other distancing, health, and safety guidelines. He announced further changes would be announced on a monthly basis.

On Wednesday, April 7 at 9:00 a.m., we will welcome the second group of five candidates who have accepted our invitation: Del. Jennifer Carroll Foy (Democrat for Governor), Sen. Jennifer McClellan (Democrat for Lt. Governor), Glenn Youngkin (Republican for Governor), Del. Hala Ayala (Democrat for Lt. Governor), and Sean Perryman (Democrat for Lt. Governor).
