Today begins ProPublica’s spring member drive. For the next two weeks, I’ll be checking in with you, explaining how we operate as a newsroom, highlighting some of our best stories, and hopefully convincing you to join us with a donation to support this critical work. <[link removed]>

ProPublica is a nonprofit, investigative newsroom and we have one, singular mission: to produce deep-dive, well-researched, nonpartisan journalism that produces real-world change. ProPublica is not subsidized by one wealthy owner or donor and we have no shareholders looking to make a profit off our work. Our journalism is a public service, and we are funded largely with donations from more than 40,000 individuals just like you.
