 The Jewish people have historically been the most persecuted people on earth and have lived in Israel (Judea) for the past 3,000+ years. Israel and the United States intend to keep its people safe from the terror group Hamas and its supporters who would like to wipe the Jewish people off the face of the earth, as Hamas frequently launches missile attacks into the Jewish nation.
As the only democracy in all of the Middle East, Israel is an extremely important ally to the United States.
BDS, or Boycott, Divestment and Sanction, is an anti-Semitic movement targeting the only Jewish nation state in the world. It is a movement that deserves strong opposition from members of Congress in order to protect Israel as a sovereign nation.
Because of this, American Majority Action is calling on Congress to vote on a bill that specifically condemns the BDS movement as anti-Semitic and makes it illegal for the United States government to fund groups or activities or do business with any business or contractor that is boycotting Israel.
The BDS movement has been described by Benjamin Netanyahu as “economic terrorism” against the state of Israel with the goal of economically strangling Israel out of existence. According to its founder, Omar Barghouti, the BDS movement’s ultimate end is to create a one state solution in which Israel ceases to exist.
“While dozens of states have already passed anti-BDS language, we are calling on Congress to act on this issue immediately,” said Ned Ryun, founder and CEO of American Majority Action. “The BDS movement has no place in America. If we truly believe in ‘Never Again’, it is time to eradicate the BDS movement.”
