**The starting salary is ?19,698 (Level One) rising to ?20,493 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

*The daily activities of this role are:*

* *to accurately process and verify applications to register to vote and voting by post or proxy*
* *to produce data files for the secure production of electoral materials or the supply of sensitive registration data*
* *to maintain the integrity of the register by carrying out audits and checks on the eligibility of electors and sending the appropriate communications*
* *to be frontline support to citizens, candidates, councillors and MP's on the registration and voting processes, via telephone, email and written correspondence*
* *to assist with the conduct of elections including the booking of stations, recruitment and training of staff and the general administration for polling stations, postal vote opening and the count.*

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:*?
* Ability to build a working awareness,knowledge and understanding of elections and electoral legislation and regulations,applications and processess
* Knowledge of computerised systems and procesing data securely.?Advanced keyboard skills and ability to design and use complex spreadsheets,corporate networked programmes and mail merge.
* Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) for engagement with the public, Councillors,MP's,candidates, other authorities and government departments and agencies.
* Experience of, or ability to, manage own workload and meet strict deadlines
* Ability to understand and explain complex procedures and offer advice and assistance
* Ability and willingness to work outside normal office hours at certain times, particularly during election periods, when extensive unsocial hours are required.
