Hi there,

As our nation begins to heal, people are turning to our leaders for policies that will make our communities safer. I want you to know that I will give my all to help fix the problems our country is up against.

I didn't run for office because I loved politics or because I wanted to make a name for myself. I ran for my kids, my parents, my wife, and the community I grew up in. This all began when I saw my congressman at the time leading the effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act, leaving people I love without access to quality health care -- including my second son who hadn't yet been born.

The work that's happening in Washington is personal to me because it impacts the district where I went to school, where Kammy and I made our family, and where our boys just learned to ride their bikes without training wheels just last weekend. (Photo evidence below.)

In Congress, we're working to deliver real results that families throughout the country feel in their everyday lives. In my conversations with my constituents, it's clear what matters to them is how we move forward, bring about change, and advocate for a future we can be proud to have said we fought for.

This month in the House, we've passed legislation to expand background checks on gun sales and a rescue plan for the working class. This life saving legislation was made possible by every one of you who called, texted, and knocked last year.

Now, we must give it our all to pass the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, the No Hate Act, and more to live up to the promises we made to voters.

Right now, the margins between progress and failure are too close to stop working.

That's why over the next few days, you'll hear from me and my team ahead of the first major test of our campaign's strength. Our March 31 FEC filing is on Wednesday, and my team and I need to raise $8.5k more online alone before then.

Whoever the national GOP chooses to run against me will be backed by powerful special interest donors who will play dirty. They know I'm one of the most vulnerable incumbents, and they'll use our public FEC filing to determine how much they'll need to spend against me to flip this seat red again.
