Today I'm proud to be announcing something *BIG* for our campaign:

I'm excited to share with you that we're launching our first-ever
quarterly fundraising goal — and we're not holding back on this one,
either.

Our team crunched the numbers, and we've set a goal to raise at least
$500,000 between now and this Wednesday at midnight.

So, I realize that's a lot. But to be completely candid with you, it's
what we need to raise in order to put up a *massive* number when we report
to the Federal Election Commission (a.k.a. the FEC) for the first time
since we launched our campaign last month.

That's why I'm coming directly to you,
John. The team just let me know that
you haven't chipped in to our campaign yet so far. I'd be
incredibly humbled if you contributed for the first time — even just a few
bucks — ahead of this big milestone to help reach our ambitious
goal.

From the very beginning, I made a promise that this campaign would be
totally honest with you. 100% of the time. So I'm not gonna sit here and
pretend that $500,000 isn't a lot of money.

In fact, it's a frickin' huge sum of money,
John — and that's for a couple reasons:

 1. Every dollar we raise in this crucial early stage gets immediately put
to work standing up our organizing program, hiring staff, and growing
the size of our movement.

 2. If we hit it, we'll be within reach of an absolute MONSTER public
fundraising total for Q1 that'll smash the expectations of everyone
watching. Including a lot of folks (*cough* the GOP *cough*) who are
reaaally rooting for us to fail.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that Wednesday's FEC deadline is going to
be a pivotal moment in this race. It'll set the tone not only for the next
few months, but for the uphill battle we'll face to flip this seat blue in
2022. You've never let me down before,
