Hey --

After more than a year here at the Texas Democratic Party, I figured it was time to introduce myself! I've had an absolute blast working alongside you -- first as Deputy Candidate Services Director, and now as the Data Director with one of the most badass data operations of any state party in the country. I can't tell you how proud I am to be part of this community, and I am really looking forward to kicking it into gear together again this spring!

Like many of you, I got started in politics in my own neighborhood. Back when I was in high school, my mom drove me around to knock on doors for President Obama in my home state of Virginia -- and after that, there was no turning back! What was so special about organizing and managing campaigns in Virginia is that I got to be part of turning a red state blue -- from the ground up. And what I learned is that it truly takes a village. I saw firsthand how one grassroots campaign can change one community -- and if you magnify that across hundreds of small, scrappy campaigns, you can transform an entire state.

You know what they say: once an organizer, always an organizer. That's why I came to Texas -- because in this community, I've seen the same determination and drive for change that turned my home state blue. Every volunteer I've met here has shown the spark and stubbornness that makes politics so exciting: because it's a chance to make change for OUR communities, and take charge of OUR future. And if we keep our eye on the ball now, that's exactly what we're going to do.

I know the challenges are daunting. As a woman in politics, and especially after seeing the barriers women candidates face, I know that whenever you try to accomplish something important, there are people who will put up obstacles and try to bar the door out of spite. But I also know that for every one of those naysayers, there are many more people who are on OUR side, and who are pulling in the right direction alongside us.

If we stay focused, and keep showing up for each other, we will change the course of this state. If you're with me, rush your first $7 to push Texas forward today:

See you on the field,
