Our
democracy is under attack.

In Georgia, Republican leaders just passed a catastrophic set of Jim
Crow-era voter suppression laws that will end automatic voter
registration, reduce drop box hours, and even make it a crime to provide
food or water to people who are waiting in line to vote.

On top of that, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp directed police to arrest
State Rep. Park Cannon and charge her with a felony...for the "crime" of
knocking on his office door so she could witness him sign the bill.

What's happening in Georgia is racist, anti-democratic, and deeply
unpatriotic, and it drives home the urgency of the work we're doing to
pass the For the People Act and protect every American's right to vote. We
may not be in the middle of an election cycle, but it’s essential we keep
funding our organizing and messaging efforts to protect our constitutional
rights.



We're setting a goal to raise $20,000 in grassroots donations before our
big quarterly fundraising deadline on Wednesday. That way, we’ll have the
resources to keep up our fight to pass the For the People Act and other

Our progressive movement has already won some incredible victories this
year. But we can’t take our eyes off the urgent challenges we’re facing
right now.

Georgia is one of 43 states who have introduced legislation in 2021
attacking voting rights, especially for people of color. If these bills
pass, they will shut millions of voters out of our 2022 midterms
elections.

Republicans know that the American people overwhelmingly support
progressive priorities like raising the minimum wage and Medicare for All
– but instead of listening to the voices of everyday people, they're
trying to silence voters instead.
