Hi John,

We've been through an emotional roller coaster.

Together, we stood up and took care of each other while our leaders
failed us throughout an unprecedented year. And in recent days, with the
actions of Doug Ducey, we see the need to continue this type of
leadership from the people.

Together, we changed our country, electing an administration that has
already moved us forward with the urgency and compassion the issues of
our day demand.

But yet, we're also now facing the reality of how much damage has been
left behind. There is still so much work to be done.  

The hateful, senseless attacks of the last two weeks have left us
shattered. The aggressive onslaught of bills across the country to
dismantle voting rights and protections has shocked us.

I don't have any words of wisdom you likely haven't heard before,
but I wanted to write today to offer a reminder that has helped me.

We have made progress, and we should celebrate that and honor it. But it
doesn't mean there aren't battles ahead. Every action each of us
takes now, big or small, to level the playing field matters. And every
time we stand as an ally, it matters.

So please keep using your voice. I promise to keep using mine.

Below are some of the ways I've been staying active for change. I
wanted to share them if you are interested or can help.

#StopAsianHate
As someone who spent years publishing the stories of the Asian American
experience in the national East West magazine, and a member of the AAPI
community, I ask for your allyship as we work to #StopAsianHate.

When I ran the magazine, we tried to break down the model minority myth
and the permanent "foreigner" label that plagues the community and
keeps the hate, the hardships and the scars hidden.

We have to keep the conversation active and loud. Here are a few ways to
help:

1. This Anti-Asian Violence Resources

guide provides educational and allyship resources including bystander
prevention.

2.  The AZ Asian Chamber of Commerce is holding a March & Vigil
tonight. March 27th at 6pm. Details here.

3. Join and Support the Arizona Democratic Party's AAPI caucus.
You don't have to be AAPI to join, you
just need to stand for the mission and as an ally.

Moms Who Run
Leveling the playing field in our electoral process is critical, both at
the ballot box but also in who can run. We must change how we define and
support candidates.

That's why I'm excited to be on the Board of Moms in Office. The PAC
supports moms who run with innovative programs that extend beyond the
race. We're working to build a bench of moms and to give them every
opportunity to help shape policy.

the quarterly deadline, every bit helps so we can help more moms who
run!

We need the mom voice at the table. By electing more mothers and women
who get it, think of the policy we can shift: the wage gap, gun safety,
paid leave and more.

Let's keep up the fight for the future, and remember, we're in this next
chapter together.
