John,
Our first FEC quarterly reporting deadline of the year hits in just 4 days.
Thanks to folks like you, I’ve been able to push for solutions like Medicare for All and a fair, green economy in Washington -- but shaking up the status quo has made me a top target for the Illinois GOP.
Last cycle, freshman progressives faced Republican-backed primary challengers who raised millions to try and unseat them. So when our public fundraising report is released at the end of the quarter, you can bet that Republicans in our state will be looking at it closely for any signs of vulnerability.
It’s absolutely critical that our numbers show the strength of our people-powered movement. Help us bring in 250 more donations over the next 4 days so that we can send a message that we have the support we need to face whatever they throw at us!
I’m proud that our team refuses to take a cent from corporate PACs or lobbyists -- but to tell you the truth, it does put me at a significant fundraising disadvantage in a campaign finance system ruled by Citizens United.
But I didn’t make it to Congress because of big checks from special interest donors. Our grassroots coalition won the fight for a New Day in IL-03 because of folks like YOU:
This team has defied the odds before, so I’m counting on you now to make sure we can reach our most important benchmark to date -- will you chip in $3 or more to help us bring in 250 more grassroots donations before the FEC deadline hits in just 4 days?
Thank you for your support,
Marie
