Bad news, folks. An unprecedented delay in Census data could derail our race.
Detroit Free Press
“Michigan's redistricting commission faces an unprecedented delay in the Census data needed to draw the new political maps that will affect the balance of power in the state for the next decade.”
The redistricting commission is supposed to propose new maps by September 17th. But the Census data they’re based upon won’t be available until September 30th at the earliest.
Even a slight change in Haley’s razor-thin battleground district could shift the dynamics of our race. She won by just 2.4% in 2020 -- now, new voters could be added to our district and we’ll need to contact all of them!
In just 4 days we face our first FEC public reporting deadline of the year. We need the resources to prepare for new maps and voter outreach efforts, so we’re setting a $15,000 end-of-quarter goal. Will you chip in $5 to defend this battleground district?
