Dear John, We welcome you to join us in celebrating the 12th annual International Transgender Day of Visibility on Wednesday, March 31 and throughout the next week! This day celebrates transgender and non-binary people across the globe and uplifts the community’s triumphs, contributions, and resilience. Advocates use the day to bring attention to the discrimination facing the community, while recognizing trans and non-binary people’s successes in fighting for justice, self-determination, and gender equality for us all. |

This past year has been difficult for trans and non-binary people amid legal attacks, hate violence, and the pandemic. Despite the difficulties, trans and non-binary people - especially those who are Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Middle Eastern and Northern African, Pacific Islander, and Asian - are leading the way to a more liberated future in every aspect of our society. It has never been more necessary to uplift the work and voices of the trans and non-binary community. We actively counter trans and non-binary erasure in the LGBTQ community and greater society by uplifting the ways trans people are changing the world every day. Make sure you check out our Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) page to find events where you can celebrate and educate around Virginia. If you have an event you would like to add to our page, you can also fill out this form. |

While Trans Day of Visibility is just one day, we ask you to join us in carrying its spirit across every day of the year in our mission to build an inclusive and equitable society for all trans and non-binary Virginians. In solidarity, Thalia |
