Next Thursday, April 1, frontline Indigenous youth and organizers are leading a huge action in Washington, D.C. to demand that President Biden stop the Line 3 tar sands and Dakota Access pipelines and all fossil fuel projects immediately.
To send President Biden a clear message, we are calling on all water protectors, land defenders, climate activists, and friends to join the socially distanced in-person action in front of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office in D.C. at 11am ET.

April 1 marks the fifth anniversary of the Sacred Stone Camp, the original Standing Rock Sioux Nation resistance camp, where thousands of Indigenous people and allies gathered to protest the construction of the Dakota Access pipeline.
In honor of the anniversary, frontline Indigenous youth and organizers from the Dakota Access and Line 3 pipeline fights are running from the Dakota Access pipeline in Standing Rock to the Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota to Washington, D.C. to demand that President Biden revoke the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' permits for the Line 3 tar sands pipeline and shut down the Dakota Access pipeline.
The group will meet at 11am ET in front of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers national headquarters in D.C. and then walk a short distance (about 1 mile) to the White House with a 200-foot-long black snake, representing the Dakota Access pipeline, to make sure President Biden gets the message. The goal is to demand that the Biden Administration respect Indigenous sovereignty and put an end to these extractive fossil fuel projects. But to make sure that their message is heard throughout D.C., we need as many people as possible to join them in the streets and uplift their demands.
Despite their objections, Indigenous communities have carried the weight of the nation’s addiction to oil and gas for far too long. Consultation is not consent, and the Free, Prior, and Informed Consent must be the standard for tribal nations impacted by dangerous oil and gas infrastructure.
It’s time for President Biden to show up for Indigenous people and their allies who are fighting to protect the water, land, sky, and their bodies from toxic pollution and climate change. But we cannot do this alone. We need thousands of dedicated people, like you, to join the movement to tell President Biden to build back fossil free.
