Friend, This November, Americans turned out in record numbers and voted across the country. In January, more Georgians than ever voted in a special election and elected the first Black and first Jewish Senators from the state of Georgia.
This week, Republicans in Georgia passed a sweeping voter suppression law that severely restricts access to the ballot box, including making it a crime to give voters food or water while they wait in line.
Since January, 250 pieces of voter suppression legislation have been introduced around the country. These laws disproportionately target Americans that are Black, Brown, young, low income, and disabled.
The Senate needs to end the filibuster and pass H.R. 1.
H.R. 1 will:
Democracy should be about a battle of ideas, not who can suppress the vote the best. That's why the House passed H.R. 1. Now, we need the Senate to do the same.
