The Biden administration needs to make a decision on DAPL by April 9

The fight to shut down the Dakota Access Pipeline, now in its third presidential administration, is quickly approaching what could be a crucial turning point. Next week, the US Army Corps of Engineers will have a court hearing to explain what its plan is for DAPL. The hearing is forcing the Biden administration’s hand — it has to come up with a plan and let us know if DAPL will continue to operate.

In the run-up to the hearing, we need your help reminding the Biden administration that we know the facts on DAPL — and they are damning. Not only is DAPL operating without a permit, a court told the Army Corps it didn’t adequately study the threat the pipeline poses to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe — so the Corps is only now working on a more robust Environmental Impact Statement.

The Tribe’s request is simple — shut down the pipeline while the risks are being studied. Given that the Army Corps doesn’t fully understand the threat DAPL poses, the Biden administration should shut it down while the environmental review takes place.

The Tribe has been fighting DAPL for the better part of a decade now, and they are going to see this through until the threat is removed. We need you to act in solidarity with the Tribe and tell the Biden administration to shut down the Dakota Access Pipeline.
